Introduction by Fr. Michael

Welcome to the Fourth Week of Easter in our Season of Joy series.

So often, when we begin to pray, our first instinct is to turn inward—to bring before God our own needs, our struggles, our hopes. There is nothing wrong with this. It is natural. It is human. And God welcomes it.

Today, Fr. Sean Grismer reminds us that God chose us, and not the other way around.

John 15:16 (as read by Fr. Sean)

You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you.

This is the grace of the Fourth Week of Easter:
To lay down our burdens and take on the yoke of Christ.
To live in the intimacy of His friendship.
To carry others in love through prayer.

As you enter these meditations, allow your prayer to unfold…
from surrender,
to friendship,
to intercession.

And in that unfolding, may you discover the deep and abiding joy of the Risen Christ!

The Eucharist: Will You Also Leave? In part 2 of "The Eucharist: Will You Also Leave?" Fr. Michael continues to explore Peter's firm belief in who Jesus is, even if he doesn't understand what it all means. He then looks at a modern Saint of our times, Mother Teresa of Calcutta who for decades continued her ministry of mercy despite being in her own spiritual desert. Sharing with a friend?
